This early access, behind the scenes tour gives you a rare and highly personal tour experience into one of America’s most storied warships. From the grim battles of World War II to recovering the spacecraft of the Apollo missions, USS Yorktown was at the center of our history for over 40 years. This tour delves into spaces not open to the public, such as the Captain’s Cabin, the Flag Bridge, and the Pri-Fly aircraft control spaces, and a number of engineering spaces. The tour is immersive and chronicles the daily life of sailors onboard a fighting ship. All participants should be in good physical condition since the tour goes up and down over 15 steep stairways that were part and parcel to a sailor’s life. At the conclusion of the tour, the participants still have access to the Patriot’s Point exhibits, such as USS Laffey and The Vietnam experience. Travel to Patriot’s Point will be by personal vehicle or carpool.
