Jed Christoph, the meteorologist you see on Channel 2 News, grew up in Charleston, South Carolina and has seen all sorts of wild weather here, everything from hurricanes and tornadoes to major floods and even snow.

While attending college, Jed would spend summers on Kiawah and Seabrook Islands working as an EMR and ocean lifeguard, handling ocean and medical emergencies. He graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Meteorology in May 2020 and then headed out to Missoula, MT, for his first on-air meteorologist job. In his three years there, he reported on intense winter storms, freezing cold, wildfires, and severe weather.

Now, he's excited to be back home, working as a meteorologist for the station he grew up watching!
