It's time to join, or renew your membership in the Seabrook Island Natural History Group (SINHG), an organization dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of the natural history and cultural heritage of our beautiful region. By becoming a member, you not only support our mission but also immerse yourself in a community that shares your passion for the environment and local history.
The membership year runs from June 1st through May 31st of the following year and the cost of membership is only $16 per person, a nominal fee that provides access to a wealth of knowledge, resources, and exclusive events throughout the year. Your membership fee helps fund our various programs, educational initiatives, and activities that aim to foster a deeper understanding of the natural world around us.

Throughout the past year, member benefits have included access to five free evening events featuring notable local celebrities and experts. These events have included guest speakers such as Jed Christoph from Channel 2 News, Laurent Rust from the Lowcountry Marine Mammals Network, and most recently, Dr. Reves, author of "South Carolina's Indomitable College of Medicine: The Bicentennial History." Our evening events have covered a diverse array of topics, ranging from the fascinating history of MUSC, the deep Souths Oldest Medical School, to the preservation of Bob White Quail, the geological significance of Deveaux Island and Seabrook Island, and the ever-popular subject of dolphins. Each event is designed to educate and inspire, providing members with a deeper understanding of the natural world and the cultural significance of our region.

As a member of SINHG, you also gain exclusive access to sign up for our very special trips, which cater to a wide range of interests, budgets, and fitness levels. This past year, we offered over 50 unique excursions that included kayaking adventures, biking tours, cultural events, culinary experiences, arts and crafts workshops, and explorations of the rich history of Charleston, the Sea Islands, and local culture. These trips are designed not only to be enjoyable but also to enrich your understanding of the ecological and historical tapestry that makes our area so unique. Whether you are an avid adventurer or someone looking to learn more about the local environment, there is something for everyone in our offerings.
